In the beginning …
In 1997, ClubScientific, LLC, parent company of Summer Science Day Camps, Inc. was founded in Louisville, Kentucky, by owners Bob and Sue Hagan -- who had a passion for teaching science to young people!
The Hagans, with a combined teaching experience of over 30 years, realized the need for additional science enrichment for children and began writing science curriculum that was not only hands on/minds on, fun and exciting, but curriculum that met State and National Science Standards.
The first themed camp, Special Effects, opened in Louisville, KY the summer of 1997 and the response from campers and parents was overwhelming! Bob and Sue began writing more science themed curriculum and planned a major expansion of the business.
With 20 themed science camp offerings, numerous after school programs and locations, along with the many other programs ClubScientific offers, the Hagan's are literally living their dream of getting children HOOKED ON SCIENCE!
About Bob Hagan
Bob Hagan, MAT, President, received his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Louisville and his Master of Arts in Teaching, also from the University of Louisville, with certifications in Science, Special Education, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders and Gifted Education. He is certified to teach Science and Special Education for grades K-12. Bob was also a Science Olympiad Coach for several schools winning Regional and State Titles.
About Sue Hagan
Sue Hagan, M.Ed, Vice President, received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisville in Middle School Education with certifications in Language Arts and Social Studies. Sue received her Master of Arts Degree from Spalding University in Louisville, KY in Education - Guidance and Counseling, being awarded the Graduate Honors Citation graduating Summa Cum Laude. She is a member of the Lambda Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Lambda for excellence in service to graduate and professional school students through outstanding scholarship, character, and leadership. Sue has also been inducted into the "Who's Who Among America's Teachers". She is certified in teaching Gifted students and was awarded the Walmart Teacher of the Year (2006) Honor in Woodstock, GA.
ClubScientific's expansion has also led to franchise sales. ClubScientific Dallas, with owners Shellie and Brian Bland and ClubScientific Bluegrass with owners Kimberly and David Hudson, are now open for business, further fulfilling the Hagan's dream of reaching even more children through science education.
